Project Overview

2024-1-PL01-KA220-SCH-000246117

The partners designed this project in the context of gender equality by starting from the goal of gender equality, which is one of the sustainable development goals. This project aims to raise awareness of gender equality and to show that success depends on effort, not gender, to improve the female students’ career choices, to raise teachers/parents’ awareness on sexist approaches/attitudes, to develop educational materials, thus to make a strong contribution to the gender equality issue.

This project will be implemented by introducing successful female role models in a range of selected fields to overcome gender stereotypes in both genders and raise awareness of gender equality. During the implementation of the project, content, tools and methods will be used to encourage students to imagine themselves in these fields and improve their career choices.

During the project, the partners will create e-Modules, LMS, VR, student workshops, an e-magazine, and digital stories (in art, science, history, sport and literature). Through these, breaking gender stereotypes, improving the ability to choose the right professions especially for female students, providing innovative/creative educational materials for teachers, and shaping the families/teachers’ attitudes/behaviours according to the principle of equality are among the main benefits.

Project Objectives

  • To provide gender equality and support the empowerment of women and girls.
  • To provide the sustainability of the gender equality goal.
  • Improving girls career choices.
  • To demonstrate that men and women have the same capacity/talent, and success depends on effort, not gender.
  • To discuss Dream Gap/Gender Gap through the female role models.
  • To increase gender equality awareness of all participants in the process.
  • To offer innovative educational methods/technology/materials that will help the learning experience improvement.
  • To increase the English and digital sufficiency and readiness of stakeholders.
  • To increase the awareness of the target group towards other cultures and to gain the ability to meet on common ground.

The target groups for this project are:

  • Students aged 13-18 - in this age students internalise the traditional gender roles. Students in this age group are still young enough to prevent the internalising of traditional gender roles, and old enough to understand the issue of gender equality.
  • Female students - the primary beneficiaries of this project aimed at empowering them to make informed career choices and overcome gender-based barriers in education.
  • Male students – engaging male students is crucial in challenging traditional gender norms and fostering an environment of equality and inclusivity.
  • Teachers – Research shows that educators are carriers of gender prejudice/social perceptions. This is why it is necessary to support the teachers’ awareness regarding gender prejudices. Thanks to it they will support all students equally and challenge stereotypes. In total the project should reach 100 teachers.
  • Parents – parents’ attitudes directly influence the development of children’s attitudes concerning gender roles. Involving parents in the program can help reinforce messages about gender equality at home and support their children’s education and career aspirations. In total the project should reach 600 parents.
  • School Administrators – school administrators play a key role in implementing policies and practices that promote gender equality.
  • Community Leaders – engaging community leaders can help gain support and promote gender equality initiatives beyond the school setting.
  • Educational Policy Makers – advocating for policy changes and reforms at the institutional and governmental levels can have a broader impact on promoting gender equality in education.
  • Other Stakeholders – this may include NGOs, civil society organisations, businesses, and other stakeholders who can contribute resources, expertise, and support.
