The Secondary Municipal School Jane Sandanski from Strumica is one of the most prominent secondary schools in the south-east region of North Macedonia, and one of the best in the country when it comes to digitalization in education, programming, science, sport, music and community engagements. The school has around 800 students aged 14-19 and 90 teachers. It is a combination of general secondary education (gymnasium) and vocational education (economy). The school is equipped with modern cabinets in informatics, physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, where students gain their knowledge using technology. All employees are with an adequate higher education and have a great number of different certificates. We have many national and international prizes in web design, programming languages, natural Sciences, maths, physics, social sciences, entrepreneurship,  foreign languages, sport, music, art. SOU Jane Sandanski actively participates in many European projects as well as projects from the Erasmus+ program. The list of alumni is quite long, including one Prime minister, one President of the country, university professors, doctors, engineers, athletes and many more.

  • Elizabeta Vitanova
    Position: Мathematics and computer science teacher, Project coordinator, active in all Erasmus projects
    Teacher of computer science and math with 22 years of expertise, with over 50 national and international prizes for her work and awards for working with talented students. Has published his own collection of math assignments in the field of Algebra. She graduated from two faculties, first from the Faculty of Informatics and then from the Faculty of Mathematics at the State University. She always strives for digitalization, modernization of education with computer technology, using her knowledge of computer science and programming.  She is the organizer, editor and educator of over 30 trainings for teachers and school staff in the field of ICT and digitalization in education. For all her efforts and activities in the educational process, she has received several recognitions. The last one was in 2024, she was declared by the municipality as a teacher with special achievements in education. 
  • Nevenka Stojanova
    Position: School Principal
    Teacher of English language from, President of the School Board from, and School Principal for the past 7 and a half years. Master of Education Management (Sofia University), doing research in the different roles of school principals in the process of education. Diploma in the category “teachers” for the project “Take Care of Your Planet” organized by the NGO “Peace and Cooperation” from Madrid, Spain. Winner of the “Best Teacher Competition- Students’ Choice” organized by the students at the Jane Sandanski Secondary School. Founder the English Club for School Promotion and Youth Issues “SQUARE”.
  • Sofija Tosheva
    Position: CS teacher, Project Coordinator, Career advisor
    Education: Master’s Degree in Computer Science (2010–2012) Specialization: Information Systems and Technologies
    Key Achievements: Won the Municipality Award in Education (2014, Strumica). Organized and led over 30 teacher training sessions on ICT skills, Moodle LMS, and Erasmus+ project management. Published articles in journals and conferences, including the IJet Online Journal and the Microsoft Regional Conference. More than 100 mentions at Academia.com and Research Gate for her articles in online education. Built and maintained an e-learning platform: www.eschool.mk. Founder of NGO Think Up Digital

Why we are Participating in the Project  

The school is continuously improving in an infrastructural, digital, social and professional aspect. We are striving for professional development of our teachers, providing a safe and welcoming environment for our students, parents and employees, and offering students various opportunities for self-promotion through participation in competitions, music, sport and journalist clubs, as well as numerous projects from the Erasmus + Programme.  Inclusion is a crucial segment in the life of the school and it fully accepts and supports all students, regardless of their religion, nationality, social status or way of thinking or expressing themselves.

Our Role in the Project

SOU Jane Sandanski will perform all the tasks that are mandatory for all partners in the project in ​​dissemination, promotion of project results, organization of workshops, creation of modules LMS platform, translations, organization of students' work. SOU Jane Sansanski will host the first work package meeting. The SOU will be responsible for conducting quality assurance surveys among participants after each event. As experts in the field of digitalization, SOU Jane Sandanski is the leader of WP 3 Activitiy1-Digital stories.
